Lucky break for man as tree falls on car

GEORGE TOWN: A car owner was almost killed when a huge tree and a lamp post fell on his Honda City. Lady Luck must have smiled on him as he was just a few steps from his car when the incident occurred at Perak Road here at noon yesterday.

The tree, which is believed to be a century old and as tall as a three-storey building, landed right across the car. It was raining at the time of the incident. The rain caused flash floods in many low-lying areas here resulting in traffic congestion.
