Summons deadline extended to March 10

From theStar:-
PUTRAJAYA: The deadline for the 50% discount on traffic summonses has been extended to March 10.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said this was to give offenders more time to settle their summonses.

The deadline was to have ended on Monday.

During the initial discount period, which began on Aug 12 last year, about 5.5 million summonses were paid, including the 1.5 million which were settled in the past week.

Some 17.3 million summonses remained unpaid when the original deadline expired on Monday.

Hishammuddin stressed that the extension period was final and the Government was serious in blacklisting offenders.

“We must do it to educate our motorists to follow traffic rules,” he said.
