Six killed in road accidents on Christmas morning
KUALA LUMPUR: Four separate accidents in the city took the lives of six people on Christmas morning.
City traffic police investigation and prosecution divison chief DSP Abdullah Roning said the victims, aged between 18 and 55, died on the spot.
"The first accident was at 1.15am when two motorcycles collided from opposite direction in Jalan Pudu, killing Fong Kam Wah, 55, and Fong Kel Uin, 19," he told Bernama today.
Abdullah said in the second incident at 2.10am, a car driven by Eng Tiong Kiong, 36, skidded on the Sprint Expressway and crashed at a junction near KL Sentral.
The third incident, he said, occurred at 4am in Jalan Tun Razak involving 18-year-old S.Viknes Veran whose motorcycle skidded and rammed into the road divider before crashing into the back of a car.
"Viknes Veran was found riding without a licence," he said.
Abdullah said three vehicles were involved in the fourth accident at 4.30am in Jalan Cheras.
The car driver, Tan Kim Fat, 32, a mechanic from Semenyih, Selangor was said to have lost control of his car and hit a signboard before crashing into the back of a jeep belonging to a contractor cutting trees by the roadside.
Tan a passenger, Hoh Tian Yoon, 25, died at the scene.
